Our History

R&D Label, LLC was established in 2006 in Jamestown, North Carolina. Founder Dave Rode brought hands-on printing knowledge developed since he entered the industry at age 15. That experience helped shape a straightforward standard for the company: produce high-quality flexographic labels, communicate honestly, and give every customer attentive service.
Since then, R&D Label has grown into an organization whose capabilities extend across an experienced team. Production, quality, customer service, and operations work together through proven processes and shared accountability. Knowledge is passed across the organization, responsibilities are distributed, and every project benefits from multiple people focused on color, registration, material selection, finishing, and dependable turnaround.
As a family-owned business, R&D Label has always believed that relationships matter more than transactions. That philosophy has guided every decision — from the equipment invested in, to the materials sourced, to the way the team communicates with clients. Dave and Holly help guide the company's long-term direction, while team members throughout the organization are trusted to make decisions, solve problems, and deliver outstanding results. Ownership With a Long-Term View
The Rode family provides long-term stewardship and a commitment to the values on which R&D Label was founded in 2006. From the beginning, the goal has been to build more than a founder-led business: a durable company with strong systems, capable people, and a culture that can carry its standards forward for years to come.
Holly Rode joined the R&D Label leadership team in 2016 after a decade-long career as a registered dietitian. She brought a fresh perspective, strong organizational skills, and a focus on client relationships and day-to-day operations. Today, Dave and Holly help guide the business alongside experienced employees who contribute their own expertise and take ownership of the company's performance.
